"the lizard"

DXSO2566.JPG

A reflection of your head. Lots of dots, like the many thoughts you have throughout the day. Lots of colors, like the many mood changes we face. Lots of teeth, like the defense mechanisms we use everyday. And the most important feature, big wings, to fly far away from all those things…

"The vulture"

This flesh eater will eat your bones too. And although this might sound bad, sometimes we just need that. Leave flesh and bones behind, focus on your feelings, consult them with your mind, decide what makes you happy and use his wings to fly.

"kingsnake

Different than the other snakes, this one does not like to drench and swallow the pray. This snake will teach you how even when hungry, its better to masticate. Masticate your experiences, learn from them, keep the positives, love the process and even when hungry, sit, pray, eat and learn.

"tarantula"

Like many of our fears, she might look creepier than she is. No harm will make if you treat her with respect. Remember, our fears behave the same, treat them with respect, listen to them, work to overcome them and no harm will make. If you need help, this tarantula knows the way.

"las alas de venezuela"

This alebrije, “Las Alas de Venezula”, was made thinking of Joanna Hausmann but it does not reflect at all how amazing she is! It was meant to represent her strength, therefore the dragon. Her multiple talents are represented by the multiple spider legs and her determination to face new obstacles was represented by the wings. Wings that take her wherever she wants.
At that same event, one of the people that met her came up with this alternate symbolism: She is strong as a dragon, and Venezuelans hope her arms could reach those in jail, those fleeing the country, those far away from home, to help them return to a freed and prosperous nation. To use those wings to build a stronger and democratic Venezuela. The Venezuela that Latin America needs. Freedom to Venezuela.
No matter how many words we add, there is no way to represent all her gifts and strengths on a single art piece! Maybe a collection!
